Medicana Kızıltoprak Hospital is the very first project that Zoom/TPU worked with the Medicana Healthcare Group. The hospital is located in Istanbul, built on 14.104 sqm building site and servicing with 65 bed capacity. It is located in Kadıköy district where work and social centers as well as residential areas intertwine with each other. On the facade, vertical effect is emphasised with linear composite parts and deepness effect is increased with painted glass surfaces. Thanks to the central skylight of the structure that a visual relation is created between floors. It is also supported by a vertical green wall to benefit from daylight and green space concept. The structure is designed to benefit from the daylight as much as possible and lighting selections have been made to support natural light. Futuristic and organic design characteristics are distinctive and can be seen beginning from the entrance of lobby. Specially, relation between lobby desk and lobby stairs and parametric linear wave forms on the ceiling are the first clues of the concept which spreads to the whole hospital structure. Policlinic desk and seatings are designed in the way to create an organic connection with the whole structure. In patient rooms, patient bedhead and cabinets are designed as a whole. From this aspect, these spaces support our organic form conception.Interiors are designed basing on the integration of furniture and functions with the structure, rather than merely arrangement of furniture.
